Six steps for new believers.
If you've recently come to faith — or you're considering it — here's the path we walk with you. Six foundational steps every new believer needs to know.

1
Salvation — knowing Jesus
It begins with a person, not a program. Salvation is what Jesus has done for us — and our trust in him. We can't earn it, work for it, or be good enough for it. It's a gift. The first step is simply to know who Jesus is and what he came to do.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."— John 3:16 -
2
Assurance — knowing you belong
Many new believers wonder, "How do I know I'm really saved?" The good news is that your salvation doesn't rest on your feelings or your performance — it rests on Jesus. Once you've genuinely trusted him, you are his. Forever. We help new believers learn to live from that security, not toward it.
"I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life."— 1 John 5:13 -
3
Prayer — talking with God
Prayer isn't a performance. It's simply talking with the God who loves you — telling him what's on your heart, asking for help, listening for him. We help new believers develop a daily prayer rhythm, learn to pray honestly through hard things, and discover that God really does hear and respond.
"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."— Mark 11:24 -
4
The Bible — God's Word for daily life
The Bible isn't an old book to be analyzed — it's God's living word, given to feed our souls. We help new believers learn how to read scripture for themselves: how to study a passage, how to find God's voice in his word, and how to let what you read actually shape how you live.
"Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."— Psalm 119:105 -
5
Baptism — your public step of faith
Baptism doesn't make you a Christian — Jesus does. But baptism is the way we publicly declare what God has done in us. It's an act of obedience and a symbol of being identified with Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. When you're ready, we'd be honored to walk you through what it means and to baptize you ourselves.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."— Matthew 28:19 -
6
Fellowship — you can't do this alone
The Christian life was never meant to be lived solo. We grow when we're with others who are also growing. We help new believers connect with a small group, find friends in the church, and start serving in ways that fit their gifts. Belonging to a church family is part of how God shapes us into who he made us to be.
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together."— Hebrews 10:24–25
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
— 2 Corinthians 5:17
Want to talk to someone?
If any of this raises questions — about Jesus, about the church, about where you fit — we'd love to talk. There are no wrong questions.
